Hyperproof is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our strong and growing team.

ABOUT YOU

You are comfortable with data at all stages - defining metrics, processing data, distilling insights, and developing reports. You go beyond manipulating data to tell a story with it. You excel in communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, particularly in the areas of requirements gathering and data presentation. 

You are a strong business intelligence engineer with knowledge and experience in building reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker and/or Sigma. You are able to research and adapt to new tools and technologies as varying business needs arise. 

You keep a watchful eye for problems and like developing processes and solutions to solve them. You are adaptable and willing to fill the data-related needs of different teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this position, you will take ownership and lead the development and delivery of customer-facing reports as well as support internal analytics. You will be accountable to a team lead who values direct communication, creativity, and a proactive problem-solving attitude. The team lead is committed to offering ongoing coaching and guidance, empowering you with the autonomy to secure your success. 

Professional services:

  • Client Engagement: Work closely with our clients to understand their data needs, providing personalized solutions that enhance their reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Custom Reporting: Develop and deliver custom reports and dashboards tailored to client specifications, ensuring they meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training sessions and ongoing support to clients, helping them utilize our tools effectively and maximize their value.
  • Issue Resolution: Act as a point of contact for client inquiries related to data and reporting, troubleshooting issues, and providing timely resolutions.
  • Feedback Integration: Collect and integrate client feedback to improve our products and services, ensuring our solutions evolve to meet client needs.

Internal analytics:

  • Design and Build Solutions: Design, build, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and ongoing analysis to enable data-driven decisions.
  • High-Quality Data Retrieval: Write high-quality queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables.
  • Analytical Insights: Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and highlight business recommendations.
  • Statistical Problem Solving: Use statistical methods (e.g., regression) to solve business problems and understand these methods' assumptions and limitations.
  • Collaborative Metrics Development: Collaborate with product managers and others across the company to gather data and metrics requirements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Hyperproof’s Data Warehouse

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on analytics work experience, with proven quantitative orientation.
  • Advanced skills in SQL.
  • Experience building metrics and developing reporting solutions.
  • Proven ability to structure complex analysis and perform the analysis to drive insights.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, especially Python.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling.
  • Experience communicating results and business impact of analytical deep dives to senior leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including a bias towards action in the face of ambiguous requirements.
  • Curiosity and a drive to delve deep into details to understand the root cause of problems, unexpected user behavior, etc.

Bonus:

  • Experience in a professional services role, working directly with clients.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack technologies such as Fivetran/ Airbyte, Airflow/ Prefect, dbt, and Snowflake/ Redshift.

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE:

We value your time and want you to know what to expect from us. For this interview process, we anticipate the following: 

  • An initial 20-30 minute chat with the recruiter. 
  • Completing a Take-Home Assessment exercise that will take roughly 60 minutes. 
  • Three 60-minute 1:1 sessions with our team members, including the hiring manager. 
  • During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to ask any important questions you may have. This will also give our team a chance to get to know you better and determine the right fit for you within our team.
