The role

The Director, Finance Transformation is an important leadership role within the Controllership organization reporting to the VP, Accounting. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance Transformation to drive strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our organization's financial processes, systems, and capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting combined with expertise in transformational change management. This role requires exceptional leadership, change management skills, and a deep understanding of finance operations to lead successful transformation efforts.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the finance transformation strategy, in alignment with the organization's overall objectives and goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization within the finance function.
  • Assess current finance processes, systems, and controls to identify areas for enhancement and standardization.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute finance transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working within the finance organization.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of finance transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and other functional areas to integrate finance systems and technologies, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and technologies in finance and transformational change management, and incorporate relevant insights into strategy and execution.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, business administration or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience and a proven record of leading high performing diverse teams 
  • Public company experience in a fast-growing global company 
  • Systems experience with large GL applications (e.g., NetSuite, Workday)
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects, multitask, and prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Jira).
  • Ability to tailor communication and key messages to the audience. 
  • High initiative and a self-starter who operates with a sense of urgency and is highly process-driven and detail-oriented
  • Change agent with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating a vision into tactical execution

Nice to have:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
  • System implementation experience 
  • Strong knowledge of public company best practices
  • Certification in project management or change management 
  • Experience integrating to any of these 3rd party tools is a plus:  Workday, Concur, IBM Planning Analytics, FloQast, Kyriba
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx and SQL
