The Role
Wpromote is looking for a Director, Digital Media Investment to lead the day-to-day management and continued development of our media investment function. Initially operating as an individual contributor, you will ensure agency spend, partner commitments, and commercial agreements are strategically managed to maximize client value, strengthen Wpromote’s negotiating position, and improve commercial outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President, Media Investment, you will work closely with leaders across Media, Commercial Strategy, Sales, Finance, Legal, Partnerships, and Revenue Operations.
You will manage the operational execution of Joint Business Plans, upfront commitments, incentive programs, and other strategic investment agreements, while building the infrastructure, reporting, and processes needed to manage these programs at scale. The ideal candidate combines deep media investment expertise with strong financial acumen, operational discipline, and executive-level business judgment. You are comfortable moving between negotiation strategy and detailed execution, translating complex agreements into actionable plans, and building a centralized investment function that provides greater visibility into agency commitments, partner value, and commercial opportunities.

The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $135,000 - $155,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state’s salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above.

You Will Be
Owning Wpromote’s media investment function and strategically managing agency spend to maximize client value and commercial outcomes
Developing investment strategies across priority media partners, including Joint Business Plans (JBPs), upfront commitments, incentive programs, and principal commercial agreements
Providing investment and negotiation recommendations based on agency spend, forecasting, client needs, historical performance, marketplace dynamics, and partner opportunities
Managing strategic investment agreements from negotiation through activation, pacing, reconciliation, and value realization
Translating negotiated agreements into clear activation plans, ownership models, and requirements for internal teams
Establishing processes and controls that provide visibility into partner commitments, risks, opportunities, and earned, outstanding, and deployed value
Partnering with Finance, Legal, Commercial Strategy, and Revenue Operations to ensure accurate documentation, invoicing, reconciliation, and recognition of commercial agreements
Supporting priority pitches and RFPs under $50 million by leading media exercises, commercial analyses, and investment recommendations
Translating Wpromote’s investment scale, partner agreements, and commercial advantages into tangible client value propositions
Serving as the connective point across Media, Sales, Partnerships, Finance, Legal, and Commercial Strategy for investment-related initiatives
Building and continuously improving Wpromote’s investment infrastructure by developing scalable tools, reporting, documentation, and agency-wide operating standards, including the deals library and investment trackers
Driving automation and AI integration across investment reporting, forecasting, pacing, reconciliation, and opportunity identification
Establishing reporting and success metrics that connect investment activity to client value, partner performance, revenue, profitability, and value realization
Building trusted relationships across the media ecosystem while serving as a senior internal resource on investment strategy, partner economics, and commercial opportunities
Mentoring colleagues and contributing to a collaborative, accountable, and continuously learning culture
Potentially hiring, managing, and developing team members as the function grows, with future direct-report responsibility considered part of the evolving scope of the Director role
You Must Have
6-8 years of experience in media investment, media buying, agency commercial strategy, or a related discipline, ideally within a major agency, holding company, or scaled independent agency
Experience managing significant media investment across multiple channels, with linear television, CTV, and streaming experience highly valued
Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing agency-level upfronts, JBPs, spend commitments, incentive structures, and principal commercial agreements from activation through reconciliation
Strong knowledge of traditional investment principles and the evolving media ecosystem, including programmatic, major platforms, retail media, and emerging channels
Deep understanding of investment economics, including forecasting, commitments, incentives, rebates, credits, added value, makegoods, margin impact, and value realization
Ability to leverage agency spend, commercial agreements, and partner relationships to create incremental client and agency value
Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to translate investment data into negotiation strategies, commercial recommendations, and executive-level decisions
Experience building scalable processes, reporting, systems, and controls for a growing investment function
Strong program management skills and the ability to bring structure, sound judgment, and accountability to complex or evolving initiatives
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, clients, partners, and cross-functional teams
Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a highly matrixed organization
Experience mentoring colleagues and managing and developing team members as the function grows
Established relationships across the media owner, platform, and advertising ecosystem are a plus
