About the team

Organizations around the world are investing heavily in AI, and adoption is accelerating quickly. But successful AI transformation is not just about deploying new technology. It requires rethinking how organizations operate, make decisions, and create value.

The AI Strategy & Adoption team partners with OpenAI’s leading enterprise customers to help guide that transition. We work closely with executive leaders to translate frontier AI capabilities into practical changes in operating models, workforce strategy, and measurable business outcomes.

Our work sits at the intersection of technology, strategy, and organizational change. We collaborate with customers and internal teams across OpenAI to help organizations move beyond early experimentation and build lasting AI capabilities.

Our mission is to help enterprises turn AI into a sustained advantage—enabling them to continuously innovate, improve how they operate, and reinvent their business over time.

About the Role

We are looking for a senior leader with experience guiding large organizations through meaningful technology and operational change. This role is designed for someone who understands how emerging technologies become real organizational capabilities—and how leadership teams can translate those capabilities into long-term strategic advantage.

You will work closely with the Head of AI Strategy & Adoption to help enterprise leaders understand how frontier AI systems may reshape how organizations create value, operate, and compete. In partnership with C-suite executives, you will help introduce practical frameworks for evaluating where AI can create durable advantage and how organizations can move from experimentation to sustained capability.

This role focuses on helping leaders connect new AI capabilities with the strategic, operational, and governance decisions required to realize their potential.

This role is based in San Francisco or New York, with a hybrid schedule (three days per week in the office). Relocation support is available.

In This Role, You Will

  • Partner with C-suite leaders to explore and frame enterprise-scale opportunities for AI transformation.

  • Help organizations evolve operating models, governance structures, and workforce practices to support responsible and sustained AI innovation.

  • Translate frontier AI capabilities into practical implications for how organizations operate, compete, and create value.

  • Support leadership teams in defining transformation priorities and building structured programs that drive operational change.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives responsible for technology, transformation, risk, and business operations.

  • Collaborate with teams across OpenAI—including Go-to-Market, Applied AI, and Product—to ensure enterprise insights inform product development and strategy.

  • Synthesize lessons from executive engagements to help shape OpenAI’s enterprise adoption strategy.

  • Contribute to OpenAI’s broader ecosystem through executive engagement, thought leadership, and industry insight.

You May Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have led or played a significant role in large-scale data, AI, or digital transformation initiatives.

  • Are comfortable engaging across levels—from senior executives defining strategy to teams responsible for implementation.

  • Understand how enterprise operating models evolve in response to major technology shifts.

  • Have experience navigating complex environments involving regulation, risk, or governance.

  • Think in systems, including operating models, process design, measurement frameworks, and continuous improvement.

  • Can translate complex technological capabilities into practical business outcomes.

  • Are able to help organizations build multi-year value narratives and define ways to measure progress.

  • Build alignment and momentum through collaboration and influence across teams and partners.

  • Approach complex questions with curiosity, intellectual honesty, and a willingness to challenge assumptions constructively.

Encouragement to Apply

We recognize that strong candidates may come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including technology leadership, product development, enterprise transformation, consulting, research, or public sector innovation. If this role excites you but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply.
