About Eye Security
Eye Security provides cybersecurity with embedded cyber insurance solutions for organizations in Europe. Headquartered in the Netherlands, we are already over 170 FTEs and continue to grow internationally.
We combine cutting-edge technology with hands-on expertise to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats in real time. Our team brings together talent from intelligence, military, tech, and consulting backgrounds — all united by a shared mission: to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to every business, not just the big players.
At Eye, you’ll work on projects with an international footprint, solving real-world challenges and helping to build a safer digital future for our clients.
About this role
We are looking for a Head of Accounting (f/m/x) to own and continue building our accounting function as Eye Security continues to scale.
This is a leadership role with full ownership of accounting, statutory reporting, and audit readiness. You will be responsible for ensuring our books are accurate, compliant, and robust, while continuing to design the accounting foundations needed to support long-term sustained growth and increasing complexity.
Reporting directly to the CFO, and you will work closely with our controlling and FP&A function. You will act as the central authority on accounting topics, partner closely with the finance team and beyond, and gradually build out the accounting organization over time.
This is an opportunity to step into a clear ownership role at a pivotal moment, shaping how accounting is done at Eye Security and setting the standards that will carry us into our next phase.
The role is hybrid, with a primary base either in The Hague (Netherlands) or Berlin (Germany).
What you will do
Own the accounting function end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
Manage and develop the accounting team, starting with direct line management of an existing senior accounting contributor.
Take responsibility for statutory accounting under Dutch GAAP, including audit preparation and coordination.
Operate in a multi-entity, international environment, ensuring consistency and clarity across entities.
Support group consolidation from an accounting perspective, in close collaboration with the Senior Group Controller.
Partner with Finance leadership on accounting implications of growth, new entities, and structural changes.
Establish and maintain strong accounting policies, processes, and internal controls.
Provide accounting input into ERP decisions and future system transitions as the organization scales.
Design the future accounting team structure and help build it over time.
Act as a trusted partner within the Finance team, promoting clarity, ownership, and collaboration.
What you will need
8+ years of post-qualification experience with ownership of statutory accounts and audits.
Strong expertise in Dutch GAAP and a valid RA qualification.
Prior people management experience.
Experience working in multi-entity, international environments.
Experience working with modern ERP systems (MS Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA…).
A mindset suited to a scale-up environment: pragmatic, structured, and comfortable building foundations.
Comfort contributing to ERP transitions and system improvements from an accounting perspective.
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across Finance and the wider organization.
Fluency in English.
Nice-to-have
Experience with international consolidation.
Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business models.
Background in professional services or audit firms.
What we offer
A meaningful mission: protect organizations across Europe from real-world cyber threats
Work with top-tier professionals from national CERTs, intelligence agencies, and leading tech backgrounds
A remote-friendly culture with quarterly meetups and annual company retreats (in Spain, Portugal, Italy…)
Weekly lunches (NL) and Thursday socials to stay connected
A generous time-off policy, including wellbeing and volunteering days
