Lead UX Designer

Role brief

Coder is on a mission to build enterprise software that makes software developers’ lives easier and keeps them in flow. As our Lead Designer, you will help define the look and feel of our entire product, inspiring our users and other stakeholders while working closely with our design-minded FE team on implementation. In our work environment, there will be little abstraction between you, our community, and our decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Journey mapping/user-centric design

  • Wireframing

  • Creating (clickable) prototypes

  • Customer research via surveys, interviews, etc.

  • Refinement through testing and iteration

Requirements

  • 5+ years of (digital) UI/UX design experience

  • Mastery of Figma

  • Portfolio of relevant digital design work

  • Previous experience implementing a holistic, formalized design system

  • Comfortable working autonomously/asynchronously with a distributed team

Bonus points

  • Basic front-end development experience (e.g. HTML/CSS/JS)

  • Experience designing developer tools, or other industry-specific design experience

Interview Process 

We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We hope to get through the interview process in two to three weeks if schedules allow. During this time, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and leadership. If this position requires a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time after completion.
