The Role:

We are seeking a vigilant and customer service oriented individual to join our team as a Physical Security Concierge. As the first point of contact for visitors and employees, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment. The Physical Security Specialist will be onsite Monday-Friday 8am-430pm. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various security-related tasks efficiently. This is a concierge role with dual responsibilities of front desk operations and other internal Global Physical Security tasks.

Key areas of responsibility include: 

Maintaining a high state of readiness, providing immediate/decisive response to safety and security incidents, and supporting in planning and carrying out security operations and emergency response. On occasion, this role may be required to respond to after-hours emergency calls, including, but not limited to, security incidents, health or medical Incidents and member threats of self-harm or against SoFi employees or its property. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all personnel entering the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the facility. 
  • Greet employees and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist employees and visitors with the daily sign in procedures while providing direction on security policy and building directions as needed.
  • Assist with proactively monitoring and enforcing access control systems and video management for all corporate locations, identifying and investigating alarms, and compiling detailed reports.
  • Perform security enforcement functions when necessary to safeguard the building and onsite employees.
  • Collaborate with other Security personnel and departments to address security concerns and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist Global Physical Security Management as directed with threats made against SoFi persons/property in a timely manner and coordinate a response with local law enforcement based on location of the threat. 
  • Complete detailed incident reports, maintain a tracking form of all threats/incidents, and share findings with Global Physical Security Management.
  • Make decisions in complex situations to security issues requiring solid understanding of security functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Train and influence all employees and visitors on SoFi’s security posture.  
  • Be a contact for SoFi’s onsite guard staff when needed.
  • Assist with the creation, deployment, and troubleshooting of corporate badges as well as maintaining strict records of all activity for audit compliance.
  • Assist Global Physical Security with the Employee termination process as needed.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and supervision of operational, strategic and tactical planning for Global Physical Security.
  • Partner with Facilities and Global Physical Security to uphold a consistent approach to safety objectives throughout all locations, including maintaining all life safety equipment, stocking of emergency supplies, and site specific disaster recovery needs. 
  • Prepare proposed security procedures and SOPs for Global Physical Security Management consideration.
  • Partner with Site Leadership to plan and prepare for emergencies, including natural disasters, injury, workplace threat, etc. 
  • Effectively build relationships and communicate with key staff and employee stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with local Landlord, Police, Fire, FBI and Homeland Security for on-site visits and training for the Cottonwood Heights Office and others locations as directed by Global Physical Security Management.
  • Partner with various internal teams, private security firms, and local law enforcement to identify and mitigate threats.
  • Handle shipping, receiving and procurement of physical security related supplies as needed.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as requested by Global Physical Security Management.
  • Identify potential security partners and new softwares to propose to Global Physical Security Management.
  • Partner with the Member Experience team and other internal teams to provide Security for on-site events with SoFi members or other large groups of external guests. 

What you’ll need:

  • Onsite Attendance - this role is expected to be onsite Monday-Friday 8am-430pm, with occasional flexibility for overtime or special events as needed
  • 3+ years of experience working in a corporate safety and/or security role
  • Experience with Lenel 
  • Experience with Genetec Access Control and Video Monitoring
  • Self-motivated
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to solve complex and sensitive problems, and to stay calm under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple and ever-changing priorities in a fast-paced office environment
  • Experience working in an organization with varied employee shifts (early, mid, late, overnight, etc.)

Nice to have:

  • ASIS APP, PSP, CPP or other equivalent certifications are a plus
  • CPR Certification
  • Experience with Hattrix
  • Experience with ExacqVision
