About The Team
Fleek is a diverse set of funky individuals with the single mission of helping sustainability and promoting circular fashion while building a beautiful product experience. Our 30+ people team consists of individuals in 7+ countries with experiences from Google, YC, Uber, Accenture, Parthenon, Cambridge, Oxford, UC Berkeley and locally from Airlift, Bazaar, & Daraz.
As well as selling vintage clothing, we sell a wide range of Reworked garments. This is one of our fastest growing departments, which is driving a huge amount of demand, especially with our Retail customers. Our reworked designs cover everything from cropped denim shorts to completely remade jackets and bags, fashioned from unwanted garments.
This is an incredibly new area of the fashion world, and many of our suppliers are pioneers in this growing field!
About the Role
We are seeking an in-house Assistant Designer to help turbocharge our Reworks Department with trend led and commercial designs.
The ideal candidate will need a passion for fashion (bonus for secondhand and vintage) and a curious mind.
You will be based in our sample room which is situated in the Fleek Karachi warehouse. You will be collaborating with a Sample Master, Reworks associate (Pk) and the Reworks Design Manager (based in the UK) to realise relevant reworked designs which can be rolled out to our different suppliers for production. You will need to be a sponge for fashion trends and design nuances, as well as bringing design ideas to the table.The role will be to design and develop in-house collections as well as specific customer requests. The ideal candidate will not be afraid to get hands on, with trips to local raghouses in order to source garments and fabrics to rework.
Requirements
Aptitude for designing relevant and desirable garments for a range of different customers
Excellent knowledge and interest in western fashion trends
Passion and curiosity for working with reclaimed textiles and garments.
Creative attitude to problem solving, and ability to design styles that can be replicated in production.
Strong foundations in technical drawings and creating tech packs
Understanding of pattern cutting and garment manufacturing
Good knowledge of garment construction and finishing
Aptitude to work in a fast paced environment
Good organisational skills
Skills on Adobe illustrator/ Photoshop/Canva or similar
Degree in Fashion design or similar required. Experience in a design based role is preferred, but not essential. Please include your Design Portfolio, CV and cover letter
