Job Description

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Risk Manager to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Risk Manager will work independently in a large PMO, performing tasks such as developing a risk management framework/plan, tracking risks, and providing solutions for mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Risk Manager in a large PMO, performing a variety of tasks independently, including updating project schedules, tracking risks, and maintaining project documents such as status reports and briefings.
  • Develop risk management deliverables such as risk/issue management plan, risk register, risk/issue tracking log.
  • Synchronize risks and issues with the government provided risk register
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced PMO environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in risk management and/or project management.
  • Previous federal contracting experience, preferably with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
  • Experience in project management, particularly with large-scale system migrations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Healthcare Technology Management (HTM), asset management, or facilities management.
  • Experience with asset management processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

The proposed salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000.
