We’re seeking an experienced underwriter who is willing to think outside the box with a whole new approach to policy underwriting. This position is perfect for an individual who has demonstrated a thorough understanding of the knowledge behind commercial auto underwriting. You will support collaborative business relationships, and elicit client understanding and insight to advise and make recommendations.

A day in the life of a Senior Underwriter:

  • Underwrite individual commercial auto liability accounts for program acceptability, pricing adequacy and long-term profitability.
  • Review new and renewal business submissions and prepare quotes and binders
  • Implement strategic underwriting objectives and risk management techniques that support profitability and growth
  • Build strong relationships with internal broker relationship managers, external brokers and customers
  • Evaluate measurement controls, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvement that will lead to reduced loss ratios
  • Provide ad hoc insurance product support for regulatory filings, compliance, and underwriting-related audits

    • The skills you'll bring:

  • A relevant degree and significant industry experience
  • Ideally experience in commercial auto (fleet, trucking, food delivery, cargo, cannabis, non-emergency medical, etc)
  • Experience as a senior team member with larger authority to write and being a subject matter expert for more junior people
  • Experience working cross functionally with other teams
  • Passion, drive, determination and lots of good humor!
