Strategic Finance is a highly impactful team that advises senior leadership and partners with cross-functional teams to guide decision-making. The team’s objective is to provide financial leadership for the company and to ensure that Cruise is financially well-positioned to implement its strategic objectives. As a Senior Associate, you will be a critical team member driving and supporting all aspects of the planning, forecasting and reporting processes. This role will work cross-functionally across FP&A, Accounting and business partners to develop and manage forecasts and financial analytics with a focus on enhancing financial visibility and insights into the business. The ideal candidate has excellent financial modeling, analytical and communication skills, demonstrated experience managing and supporting complex projects, and a strong ability to execute. This is a high-visibility opportunity for a strong, motivated performer to make an outsized impact. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Strategic Finance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Own and streamline Cruise’s consolidated financial model to guide investment and strategic planning across the business.

  • Support the team in the development, refinement and maintenance of cash flow models and the long-term plan to project company financial performance, valuation and capital needs.

  • Drive our financial planning, forecasting and reporting processes, including monthly projections, annual budgeting and long range planning exercises.

  • Build robust, dynamic and elegant financial models, perform financial analyses and conduct data-based research to evaluate alternatives, assess outcomes and support sound, data-driven decision-making.

  • Prepare high-quality presentations, memos, reporting packages and analyses for senior management, the Board of Directors and investors.

  • Drive capital allocation decisions in the short and long term.

  • Cultivate strong working relationships and collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners across the company.

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis for senior leadership and the business.

  • Potential to assume additional responsibilities as the company, the team and the team’s scope grow and evolve over time.

What you must have:

  • 4+ years of experience in strategic finance / FP&A, investment banking, private equity and/or equity research.

  • Advanced expertise in building and auditing Excel financial models that are robust, dynamic, intuitive and scalable. Familiarity with Google Workspace applications and planning software/tools is a plus.

  • Strong analytical competence, with a deep understanding of financial documents, financial analysis, capital structure, valuation and accounting principles.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills. Ability to extract, synthesize and articulate key insights and messages from complex, detailed information to partners and senior leadership.

  • Exceptional project management and execution skills, with a validated capability to proactively drive tasks to completion and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • An extraordinary attention to detail while maintaining a big picture perspective.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a collegial nature and a demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and foster strong working relationships with others.

  • A high-impact self-starter with an ownership mindset, great attitude and strong work ethic. Comfortable operating self-sufficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - 147,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
