Role brief
Your mission

Matrix42 builds enterprise IT service management software trusted by organizations across Europe. We’re looking for a Technical Writer who can turn complex product capabilities into clear, accurate, and genuinely useful content.

You’ll work closely with product managers and product marketing managers, translating technical depth into documentation that helps administrators, IT operators, and end users succeed. This is a role for someone who treats documentation as a product.

Your key responsibilities would be:

  • Plan, write, review, and maintain technical documentation — user guides, admin references, release notes, API documentation, and how-to content.
  • Own content within our documentation architecture, and keeping information findable and consistently structured.
  • Partner with product managers to understand features early and document them accurately before and at release.
  • Apply AI tooling thoughtfully across the content lifecycle — drafting, editing, summarization, and content quality checks — while maintaining a high editorial standard and factual accuracy.
  • Maintain a consistent voice, terminology, and style across a large content base, including support for our German- and English-speaking audiences.
  • Gather feedback from support, customers, and analytics to continuously improve content quality and coverage.

Your profile

Must haves:

  • Excellent communication and people skills. Forging a strong working relationship with your key SMEs is required.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies, especially around AI.
  • Good project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility, ability to deal with shifting priorities, and unexpected deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience writing technical content in a software, SaaS, or IT industry — you can explain complex systems clearly and accurately to a technical audience.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools for content work, and good judgment about where AI accelerates the work versus where human review is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of content management systems and authoring tools.
  • Excellent written English; ability to produce precise, well-organized content under real release timelines.
  • A structured, detail-oriented approach to information architecture, terminology, and versioning.
Nice to have
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional product teams.
  • Experience in translation management.
  • German language skills (written and spoken).
  • Familiarity with ITSM, endpoint/device management, or enterprise IT concepts.
  • Experience or knowledge with work-processes and technologies around technical communication: single sourcing, HTML, CSS, CMS, Markdown, Git, static site generators, APIs, structured authoring tools, docs-as-code, DITA, etc.
  • Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices.

Why us?

At Matrix42, you'll join cross-functional product squads that tackle complex challenges for our customers and businesses — building solutions that make a real difference in how organizations manage their digital workspaces.

We actively invest in engineering productivity by embracing agentic AI tools as a core part of our development workflow. Our engineers are encouraged to use agents like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code daily — not as an experiment, but as an established practice that accelerates delivery, improves code quality, and frees up time for creative problem-solving.

Our Benefits

We could tell you about the great coffee, 25 vacation days, and flexible hours. Or that hybrid and remote work are part of the deal. But honestly? That’s just standard.

Here’s what makes working with us in Bucharest extra special:

  • Work from (almost) anywhere – Want to change your scenery? Go on a workation and take your job with you.
  • Time for growth – A career framework to support your professional and personal growth with up to 6 extra days off per year for your development.
  • Social Day – One paid day per year to give back to your community or support a cause you care about.
  • Extra sick days, no questions asked – Get 2 paid sick days per year, no doctor’s note needed.
  • Private medical care – Covered through Regina Maria, because your health matters.
  • Pick your perk – Choose what works for you via the Benefit Online platform: private pension, meal tickets, travel vouchers, courses, gifts - you name it.
  • Work-from-home allowance – Whether you're at your desk or at home, we've got you covered. The allowance adjusts based on your time in the office.
Hybrid work is a natural part of how we operate, but we also believe in the power of coming together. That’s why we regularly connect in the office - whenever it makes sense.
And that’s just the beginning. Ask us what else is waiting for you!
